Thomas Spencer’s visit to our rehearsal

We were delighted to welcome Thomas Spencer, the British tenor, to our rehearsal last Thursday.

This is what he said about us on FB:

“What an unforgettable experience to meet the Junction 14 Ladies A Cappella! Your kindness, energy, music and laughter is totally infectious. You are all ‘on it’ with knowing your technical exercises! Thank you one and all for allowing me to sing with you, for you, and for being great sports in learning a chorus from one of the songs. I’m glad ‘The Journey’ brought me to you and this could be the start of a beautiful friendship!”

Voices of Summer show is a hit!

Our show on 13th June, Voices of Summer, was a great hit and if you weren’t there you missed a treat! We were joined by many friends whose excellent performances Show 2015helped us make it a great success, as well as lots of volunteers behind the scenes, managing us all, doing the technical stuff, selling raffle tickets and generally making sure that everybody had a good time (us included!). We are really grateful to everyone who shared the evening with us, supporters and audience alike, and we’re even thinking of doing another one sometime – we just need to recover from this one first!

Love to Sing Course 2012

We held a 4-week long “Love To Sing” course to introduce Ladies Barbershop singing to ladies in Milton Keynes and the surrounding areas. The course was very popular, with around 50 ladies turning up every week, and performing in the short concert that we put on at the end for family and friends. Around half of the ladies enjoyed it so much that they become permanent members of Junction 14.

A visit by photographer Nige – November 2009

A local photographer paid a visit to Junction 14 on a Rehearsal evening.  The chorus was a lot smaller in 2009 than it is now, but the ladies all have lovely expressive faces!

Junction 14 are an amazing all-ladies barbershop choir, hailing from my native Milton Keynes. I photographed them during a practice session whilst they were preparing for a big competition. They were some of the most expressive and emotive characters I’ve ever had the pleasure to shoot. Look at those faces!
